Legend has it that Arceus and Mew came into agreement and hid all the Pokemon in existence centuries ago, for they saw the harm the human race placed on the creatures. But Mew, whom felt that the human's ought to be given a second chance, instead gave a few humans the powers of the Pokemon as their own. Nowadays, Pokemon are mentioned as creatures of myth and fable, neither real nor unreal, for many still believe in the power of such creatures, who could shake the earth and cause tidal waves at mere whim. But what of these 'special' humans? Are they real? Or are they merely thoughts of an imaginative mind.
Yes, they are very much real.
Enter the island of Aevitas, strategically placed in the middle of the ocean. Not found on any map, nor mentioned in any books, the island is invisible to most. But not to those who make it their own home. Generations of these 'Pokemorphs' have lived on the island, along with a few humans as well. They live independent of foreign entities, eating the food they grow and using materials found on the island.
The island also has its own education system. While the curriculum was mainly devised for Pokemorphs, there were many arguments and compromises but the policy of the school was revised so that Laniel Academy could accommodate human students as well.
